Community Labour
When
I started this site, I had simple plans: I update it every few times a
week, and in return the community checks it out, and hosts some custom
maps on their servers. I was wrong.
There's something wrong: people seem to hate custom maps. With
the ESL mapping competition, 4 new maps were added to Soldat, and the
community's reaction was interesting: some people hate them, others
love them, and they have already took the place of some older maps in
clan wars.
People should really understand, that these maps which they are
playing on were once custom maps, and Michal doesn't make maps himself
anymore ( the last map he made was htf_Void ). The default maps of
tomorrow are customs today: this means the community does have the
chance to choose which maps they want included, but they aren't taking
advantage of this situation. This leaves us rusty beta testers voting
about the default maps, with Michal only saying the final Amen.
With this site, I wanted to highlight all this: but people just
don't get it. I'm not sure how many hits Mapmine gets, but I know for a
fact that there are more than 30 000 players daily, and less than 10%
knows about this site. Even less check it out.
What am I getting at you ask? Advertise this site. It's for your own good, ya gits.
